Community Foundations in Romania

There are now six fully operating Community Foundations in Romania. Community foundations provide simple and efficient local tools to help communities achieve their common goals and create lasting values. The pioneers were the Community Foundations in Cluj and Odorheiu Secuiesc, founded in 2007-2008 followed by Alba and Covasna, in 2010, and Bucharest and Mures in 2011. There is also an initiative in Iasi, with notable achievements, about to be officially registered.

The interest is growing and new community initiatives throughout the country have expressed interest in joining the high quality development program implemented by ARC, REPF and PACT. For more information about the program and each community foundation, click here.
